The Noé was born in 1932, designed for a champagne producer who wanted a bag capable of transporting five bottles of champagne. The bucket shape — round base, straight walls that flare slightly, opening closed by a drawstring — has become an archetype. Nearly a hundred years later, the Noé remains one of the most immediately recognizable Louis Vuitton models, and one that feels most natural for everyday use.
This piece is in black Epi leather, the leather with parallel ridges that Louis Vuitton introduced in the early 1980s. The Epi grain is obtained through a specific treatment that gives the leather a linear texture, increased resistance to scratches, and a certain degree of water resistance. In black, it creates an understated, structured, and versatile bag that works just as well on weekdays as on weekends, in summer as in winter. Here, the leather is in good condition, the texture is well-preserved, with slight signs of prior use and discreet rubbing on the corners and the top of the bag.
